As you may have noticed, I’m big on books. I read them. I buy them. I loan them out. There’s nothing like a good book. They’re my little buddies. So you can imagine my dismay when I loan them out and never see them again. It doesn’t happen often. But when it does, I always feel a little loss. Then it occurred to me. I need a book stamp!

I looked on Etsy and saw some amazing stamps! People are seriously creative. There were some that were simple monograms; some with animals or icons; some in circles; and some with fun sayings. But as I was sifting through them and preparing to pay the $20+ for them, it occurred to me - ‘Lauren, you’re creative! You love typography! You can make your own stamp!”

So I took to Canva. I wanted my name in a clean, simple font with a nice border, and a funny saying. I played around with a few variations until settling on the one below.

Then, I uploaded the design to VistaPrint and added it to one of their self-inking stamps. $20 and 6 days later, a beautiful little stamp arrived on my doorstep. I absolutely adore it! Now, I’m thinking of making a book checkout system too… Too much? Eh, when has that ever stopped me.
